Tippex accidents: the term is new, but the reality behind it unfortunately is not. Tippex accidents are accidents at work that are not or not properly indicated and are therefore “invisible” or “innocent”. Accidents at work that, just like writing errors, disappear under a layer of Tipp-Ex.

During the training to become a prevention advisor, I looked into this subject for my thesis, of which – so far – very little is known. Time for a conversation about tippex accidents. Time to remove this phenomenon from the taboo sphere. Because how often are accidents at work not reported or not properly reported? What are the consequences of hiding reality? Is this phenomenon contagious? Or does this resolve itself? What does science say about it? Is this a global problem? And does this have an impact in my environment?
